Johnny Callahan

has been writing songs

as guitar/bass player with the

Sundown Poachers

from 2007 until the present day.

 

He is from the town of

Callahan, California.

In 2019, Johnny released

his debut solo album

"I Need What I Know"

The album features all of the

Sundown Poachers as well as

other Callahan musicians. 

 

A local in the State of Jefferson,

Johnny Callahan is a folksinger, songwriter, woodworker and self-proclaimed comedian

that always brings his audience to life.

Johnny is a unique talent in the

Folk and Americana music circuit,

with a voice that is always heard loud and clear.

 

Johnny Callahan's

stage presence is unmatched;

he is not your average folk singer. 

Callahan has performed

over the last fifteen years in two bands:

SlapShoeFly and Sundown Poachers.

 

In their "heavy rollin" days,

the bands opened for or shared a bill

with world touring acts such as,

Old Crow Medicine Show, Avett Brothers,

Merle Haggard, The Devil Makes Three,

John Craigie, Slaid Cleaves and

Brothers Comatose.

 

The road proves hard on the mind and body,

and Johnny Callahan has let up a touch

on the accelerator when it comes to touring.  

Johnny can be seen opening shows in

Northern California for talents such as

Bart Budwig, Wind Fields, The Brothers Reed 

and more..
